lol how people break down movies to where it gets really annoying, the director had to create the movie like the game was, that includes all its sexist themes and such, so don't get all worked up on the movie. If the director didn't make the movie exactly as the game, then there would leave a great number of scott pilgrim fans disappionted and lead people to believe the movie was yet another bad game-movie film. Since you are apparently such a great critic why don't you remake the movie the way you believe it would avoid all the sexist issue and flashy animations, yet stay true to the game.

Interesting how a blood and guts novel can also "concentrate on the nature of evil and Temple’s morality". Temple has no morality, regarding the killing of humans and zombies with equal equanimity. Although she is meant to be very young - and still looks it - she seems to have the physical strength of a seasoned warrior. And although society collapsed some 25 years ago (before Temple's birth, which doesn't make much sense), there are still functioning vehicles and edible food supplies for the taking. In my view this novel had real potential, but is let down by the details.

I really enjoyed the film, but I think it may be ahead of the game. Take in the fact that all the spoof and satire gradually builds towards a darker tone in regards to how Mirageman handles foes...especially ones who tout guns.

I think this film is severely underrated, but at the same time it can be cheesy (like the obvious set up with the mansion with guys popping out to fight or purse snatchers fighting him one-on-one in the alley).

You're right, It still manages to deliver on a lot and even give the audience what other hero films fail to do. I really found myself wondering what would happen next when his kid brother hears about Mirageman's next...

The ending even left me wondering, "why haven't they done a sequel?" I would love to see a sequel either featuring the younger bro taking on the mantle or at least having the two brothers become more involved in each other's lives...but a sequel from this series may kill what was good and worked in the first one.

Thanks for the Review, I like what you said.

If you are interested in expanding your Netflix viewing, I'm pretty sure High Kick Girl is available to Watch Instantly. But it's not very good. You' think that a movie based entirely on good-looking Asian women in short skirts kicking dudes in the head would be difficult to screw up, but somehow the makers of High Kick Girl manage to screw it up.

I would agree that at our most basic level, humans are social animals, but after thousands of years of civilization we have long passed the point where comparing human nature to animal nature is relevant. For better or worse, we have transcended many aspects of nature, so I like to think that my lonely, empty, solitary existence is actually a triumphant victory over my baser animal nature.
